Caught Up Challenge

I squeezed in some stamping time yesterday to do THIS WEEK'S challenge (again from SCS). Very fun indeed. It is wet and mucky here in BC (the joys of a west coast winter) and so the blah's were in full swing at our house. Everyone wanting sunshine... so I thought I'd go with bright, happy colors for my card challenge. I used the scallop punch as the base of my flower and then built it up with prima flowers. Here's the sketch for you to try....

Stamps: Love Matters
Paper: Old Olive, whisper white, pumpkin pie, basic black, DS (my stash)
Ink: brilliance black & SU Stampin' Write Markers
Accessories: corner punch, slot punch, prima flowers, scallop punch, 1/16th punch, brad, pink rhinestone
How do you find inspiration? Do you just sit and go for it when you stamp or do you CASE ideas you love?

Sketch it Wednesday.

Each Wednesday there's a sketch challenge over on SCS. I always seem to be one week behind (story of my life - LOL) so I thought I'd share with you LAST weeks sketch Challenge (aka SC160). I will work on today's challenge & hope to share that with you too. I seem to have caught the dreaded cold/flu my kids have so I'm suffering through that and moving a tad slower than usual. We also have to clear out the entire upstairs (except kids' closets as they actually sleep in there... oh the joys of living in an unfinished house!)as our floor starts getting put down tomorrow! HOW EXCITING IS THAT!?! We were able to log fir trees off our property and get them milled & dried and are using that for our hardwood floors -- pretty cool. They are wide plank board too. Beautiful. I'm just so excited to get some flooring down as that means it's ALMOST time to unpack! Living in/out of boxes & suitcases for nearly two years.... how sweet will this be. OK, back to stamping!!!
Here's the sketch. I hope by showing you the sketch, you'll be able to sit down and give it a try too. I find when I'm in a stamping block, following a sketch works amazingly well!

Here's my card using the frolicking frog set by Stampin' Up!

Enjoy your day, find time to play!

Hello Monday & Tuesday :)

**sorry ladies, blogger was down for some reason when I tried to post yesterday....**

The beginning of the week is here. The snow is trying to fall, but is failing to make any real progress :) It is cold though. Well, cold for me! LOL.
And the winner of Friday's freebie is......lucky #1!!!

Am I the first? Must be my lucky day!
I'd have to say Primacolour pencils. I love to colour, and I seem to reach for these more times than not. I find that I know how to use them (after all, we have been using coloured pencils since childhood!), and they do an awesome job. I like to cover my image with clear EP once it's coloured, makes it looks really finished.
Thanks for the chance to win the candy!

Thanks so much Karen, it IS YOUR LUCKY DAY! Please email me your snail mail and I'll get your goodies off to you :)

Daddy Day.

Only a couple more hours to go until we head out to the airport. YEAH!!! There's a few flakes slowly falling from the sky so hopefully a full on snow storm doesn't start up (although I've heard rumors .... hmmm.....) Still time to enter the freebie from Friday's post. I will select a winner sometime on Monday :) Keep the comments coming.

I was playing the other day & thought I'd post a pic for today :) I don't pull out my twill tape too often, so thought I'd use it to stamp my sentiment. Also popped up some of the leaves on the flower. A bit out of the box for me... but it was fun to play :)

Paper - Chocolate Chip, DP(Basic Grey), Whisper White
Stamps - Time Well Spent (SU)
Ink - Black StazOn, SU Markers, COPIC Markers (starting to play!!), Chocolate Chip
Other - Twill Ribbon (SU), Brown Brads(stash), rhinestone

Challenge

I'm really trying to participate in the weekly sketch challenge over at SCS. It's a great way to get inspired and push yourself to use the sketch they created for the week. So this week, this was the sketch we were given:

Here's my take on the sketch below:

Stamps: Walk this Way, Crosshatch, flexible phrases, Happy Everything
Paper: Old Olive, rose red, very vanilla, basic grey, imaginisce "rosies & posies" design paper
Ink: black stazon, rose red, basic grey, markers
Accessories: white brads, tab punch, ticket punch, white liquid applique, sewing machine for stitching
My kids love the liquid applique... it's one of those cards you just HAVE to touch! :) Did you participate in this challenge? If not, give this sketch a try over the weekend .... and let me know, I'd love to see yours!

Freebie.

Don't you love Fridays :) Ahhhh.... with the crazy week we've had here with sickness I am so looking forward to some weekend time (not to mention DADDY COMES HOME ON SUNDAY!) Countdown is on -- two more sleeps. :)

OK, soooo.... here are the treats to win this week.

These are unmounted (just the rubber) stamps. If you haven't worked with unmounted stamps before you can simplify it by just using double-sided tape on them, a block and then use a mousepad or something to give you a bit of cushion if you're needing it. These are a few expression stamps: thanks, thanks, Congrats!, and Stamped by me for you!

Last friday I had you leave a comment about what you've been working on these days and I was thrilled to have 30 comments by draw time! woohooo! I love to hear from you. Today, I'd like you to tell me what you're MOST USED "stamping/scrapping" item is. Aside from stamps, ink & paper cutter (we use those items EVERY TIME we stamp! LOL).... for me, I'd have to say a coloring medium. I love to color. I flip-flop between my watercolor crayons (love 'em!) and my Prismacolor Pencils. I'm slowly starting to get some COPIC marker, but have yet played enough to be proud of anything! LOL. It's not as easy as it looks! :)

I still haven't heard from Sandy, last weeks winner.... so SANDY.... :) I need your snail mail address.
Enjoy your weekend --
