Coming up for air....

Am I a blogger still? Thought maybe my account here would say DOES NOT EXIST! sheesh. Life got crazy, crazy there for a bit. Garage Sale prep (which is waaaaay to much work), actual Garage SALE (the last one of my ENTIRE LIFE. There. It's in writing!), a lovely week of company, hubby's knee surgery, school field trip(s), my baby's 7th birthday and a lovely party of 12 little princesses.... now.... I'm coming up for air. Of course there's still boxes to unpack and go through, but I've decided to make this a long term goal. Too many hours of every day spending in those boxes!! :) My DH was singing the song by Alabama, "I'm in a Hurry"... and I thought that is me ALL THE TIME! Time to change that. Take a breath and SLOW DOWN. I did get Sarah's birthday invitations done. It was well after midnight the NIGHT BEFORE handing them out, but they got done. She was thrilled and helped address all the information and used her trusty glue stick to glue the information on the inside of each card. No, she wasn't up at midnight... LOL... we quickly got it done in the morning :)

I hope to be more *regular* now.... we'll see. I hope for now you're all enjoying an incredible summer weekend.

House progress....

inside is still unfinished, and once there's something exciting to show you, I will, but right now it's just stacks of partially opened boxes & just a real mess. The outside is coming along nicely though & we hope to get the driveway and walkways poured this week! :) Come on SUNSHINE!!!

happy Monday :)

Spaghetti Squash Primavera

OK... so I didn't fool my kids with this one, they still KNEW they were being force-fed SQUASH. My husband however (who very much dislikes squash) thought it was very good (even took seconds!!) This is a great vegetarian dinner, but being MEAT eaters, I served it with some BBQ chicken :) YUM.

Spaghetti Squash Primavera

1 medium spaghetti squash
1/3 cup butter
2 med. onions, diced
1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
1-1/2 cups broccoli florets
1 cup peas
1 medium zucchini, sliced (didn't have it so we left it out)
4 carrots, cut diagonally
1 cup milk or half & Half
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves or 1 TBSP. dried basil
1 red bell pepper, sliced
6 green onions, chopped (again omitted as we didn't have any -- still yummy!)
12 small cherry tomates ( I just diced up a regular tomato I had)
1-1/2 cups grated parmesan cheese

***Cut squash in half lengthwise and remove seeds. Place cut-side down in a baking dish, add 1" of water & bake at 375 for 1 hour. Melt butter in a large frying pan ( LARGE ONE!) and saute onions, mushrooms & garlic until soft. Add broccoli, peas, zucchini & carrots. Stir. Add milk, chicken broth & basil. Boil briskly to reduce sauce a little, about 2 minutes. Add red peper, green onions, cherry tomatoes & cheese. Heat thoroughly. Using a fork, scrape strands of squash into a large, heated, shallow casserole. Top immediately with hot vegetable mixture. Serve with extra parmesan cheese. Serves 8-10 :)

ENJOY! happy Mother's day weekend everyone!

I hate unpacking.... or am I packing?!

First off - for those of you who asked about the storage system, it's from IKEA. :) Nice & Easy to put together (not like the sideboard dresser I ordered for between them from another store that's laying in a zillion pieces all over the floor... gonna need to sweet talk DH!!!). :)

Well, I think we've nearly decided that we're moving. We know we're selling our beautiful home because the market is HOT, HOT, HOT ... and that was our intention a few months into the project. BUT... we might actually be moving OUT OF PROVINCE. So all those boxes that have been in storage for 2+ years (eek!) are now being brought in & I'm "unpacking"... simply to pack again. HOW DEPRESSING IS THAT?! BUT the goal is to have an enormous Garage Sale in 10 days!! That'll get my butt into gear to get into those boxes. I look at everything thinking "seriously... if I didn't need it for OVER two years... do I *really* need it?!" So... I think it's going to be a big yard sale!!

I'm so sorry it's been so long since I've had something stamped to share with you.... I sure do miss it!

Success

Hubby & I went to the mainland yesterday to do some shopping (yeah for me, well... he was trooper! LOL) I finally decided on what to use as STAMP STORAGE in my new space. It had to be something that I could take with me when we move as well as something that would "show" well in the house & on top of it all be versatile enough to use somewhere else in the house if need be. So.... this is what I finally decided on:

I got 2 of these and between them is a side table. Hopefully once it's all set up I can take a pic and show you. I got about 10 baskets to randomly put in the "holes." Baskets will hold things like - eyelets/brads/buttons, ribbons, punches, paper, markers, packaging, acrylic stamps/access., cuttlebug goodies...I'm so looking forward to getting set up. Hubby is home now for 10 days so we're going BLITZ on the house and then when he's gone I will promise myself ONE DAY (at least!) to stamp in my new space --- ahhhhh.... of course the side table came in a zillion pieces so I need him to put it together for me... wish my dad lived closer! LOL. My goal is to get all my stamping things to FIT! LOL. TIME WILL TELL.
It's gorgeous out there today, so the little digger is workin' away in the yard getting things ready for seed -- hope you have a warm spring day awaiting you.
