I'm back! :)

First off, I did want to say thanks to those who "noticed" I was gone. :) We were off enjoying Spring break -- so now we're back & I'm ready to start stamping again! I got to a great little stamp store in Vernon, so brought back some new goodies to play with! So no pics for you today, but stay tuned as I hope stamp-time is around the corner! I know there's laundry, unpacking and reorganizing to do but aww well.... isn't that ALWAYS the case! :) Our floors are basically DONE and I'm happy to say that we can start UNPACKING! WOW.... 2 years the kids have had some of their things packed up and it's almost time to unpack. It'll be like Christmas.
K -- time to make some coffee and get going on my taxes (yes, I'm always this late!)...
OH -- a cool thing I found.
***I've noticed a lot of "fuzzy" embellishments out these days. THINK fun flock! Well, a tip I found was if you take a brad with glue on it, you can dip it into fun flock and create your own fuzzy brad?! How cool is that?! A must try. I can see it being used on baby cards -- cozy & fuzzy!

have a fabulous weekend!

Dessert Nachos....

k, have you heard of this dessert? HELLO! Does it ever sound YUMMY. My kids would LOVE IT. I found it on this blog... CHECK IT OUT HERE! -- there's a picture so you know what I'm talking about. I think my kids would have tons of fun making & EATING this.

Here's some directions I found on Kismet,Art and Life Blog:
Recipe for Dessert Nachos: Take flour tortillas, spray or brush with melted butter, sprinkle liberally with cinnamon and sugar, cut into wedges, bake in oven until crisp (350 10-15 minutes, turning over once). Arrange them on platter, top with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, fresh chopped fruit (kiwi, bananas, pineapple, cherries), some whipped cream, and more cinnamon sugar. Gorge yourself.

Fun family night dessert. ENJOY -- think we'll have to try these out over spring Break.

Party Pics

I thought I'd share with you some photos from our crazy weekend of birthdays. GREAT FUN! It's was fantastic!

After they got "camp" set up they all had to get into their tent (each team had their own tent/camp) and yell... SURVIVORS READY!

Yes, that's whipping cream. They loved this challenge! At the end of the obstacle course they raced to a plate of whipping cream that they had to *dig* around in and find a piece of bubble gum -- first team to blow a bubble, won.

Yes, there's 20 girls there! I know, we're crazy, but had a fabulous time with a LIVE version of the game CLUE :) Professor Plum ended up being the killer!

Yes, that's a chocolate fondue fountain and BOY was it a HIT! Megan didn't want a traditional birthday cake this year so we did a fondue with strawberries, bananas, pineapple, apples, mini marshmallows & pretzels. The girls GOBBLED it up and loved it.
Great memories. :)

Well we're heading out on holidays this week and the computer will be unavailable in a couple days as the flooring in this room will get finished up. SO.... this will be my last post for a few days. I hope you're all having a fabulous Spring Break. I will back to regular posting once the kids are back in school :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Well it has been nearly a week. I'm feeling a lot better -- nasty cold. Then of course was the birthday parties so busy, busy, busy. Not too much stamping time. Another attempt above here for the invitations. I think there's only one more to show you. We're hoping the floors are getting finished up this week, so I'm not sure if my computer will be functioning during that time as well as my stamping room will need to be packed up for about a week. :( Guess I'll be sharing a few extra recipes this week with you :)
What are you up to for Spring Break?

coming up for air....

We survived the soccer weekend, the week away from home, the cats! LOL, although apparently we forgot to feed the fish -- he died. So everyone almost made it. My sister-in-law called last night and asked if we noticed the fish. I said no. She said half of him was missing.... eeewwww. DOOH, the fish! Ey. Still need to ask the kids if any of them fed the fish. I was just concentrating on not killing the cats :) Kids starting to mend. so now we are in PARTY mode. Still have a few rejected birthday invites to share with you as I'm not stamping these days, but trying to get the house ready for the party friday night. I hope to take some floor pics to share with you too! :)
enjoy your Tuesday.

Soccer Extravaganza!

Did I make it? Did I REALLY make it through this day! WOW. There was a 9am game, a 10am, a 10:15, a noon, a race for the 12:45 game, a 2pm game and then a 3:15 game. Throw in one wrap up party from 1-3pm and another one from 3-5pm and you've got yourself one HECK-OF-A-DAY to be a SINGLE PARENT. IIIEeeeesh! Thank goodness the kids all have AMAZING coaches that didn't mind keeping a child for awhile so I could race to another game and for Grandparents that could do a drop off and pick up for me. It would have been nice if they were all at least in our town, but my oldest had all her games about 40 minutes away. C-R-A-Z-Y! Now everyone is in bed and we get to do it all over again tomorrow -- LOL -- *ONLY* four games tomorrow. So once I get the laundry done, dishes finished up & start packing as we 'move out' of here and back home tomorrow (not sure when I'll fit that all in)... I plan to sit and watch a movie. OH YES, I do know my mother would be saying GO TO BED CHILD! haha.. but I must veg and have *quiet time* before I rest my weary head. Are you like that? Can't seem to just GO TO BED, need a little "me time". I'd love some stamping time, but that'll come I hope :) So as promised, here's Joshua's final invite card as we switched it to go with the survival theme :)
I hope your day was amazing and your night is restful,

boyz.

I started working on Joshua's birthday invitations. This was my first one, he liked it and it was a "done deal" :) Then we decided on a SURVIVOR party and switched the invitations up a bit -- I'll show you his finale tomorrow:) For today here was the *original*.

Flooring guys put on the FINAL coat today -- wooohoooo.... We'll be able to move back home on Sunday - yaaaahooo -- can't wait to get back home, although being here has been fabulous (minus them there cats!) -- to be able to soak in a tub, lay by a fire.. ahhhh... such a beauty of a house too. But... there's no place like home. Even though we don't have interior doors or the soaker tub installed -- still nice :)
Wishing you a fabulous weekend -- whatcha up to?

what morning, already?

What a restless night we had. Humph. Sleeping at my sister's house while they're away and I now know why we do not have cats (beyond the fact that I'm allergic). I had to keep my door closed and for some reason THAT was the room they wanted last night. All night they rattled the door and MEOWED. UGH. Weary today. Good stiff coffee this morning so hopefully that will help me drag through. Oldest is home sick today -- we just can't seem to conquer this flu bug. One person ends, the next begins & then we start the cycle all over again.
HOWEVER. All that aside, here's another card to share with you. I'll be pumping out the cards today to get ready to hand out tomorrow :) Kids are so excited to take their invitations to school so I best get them done! :)
Hope you have a happy (and healthy!) day :)

WINNER....

Finally decided to draw a winner for those dragonflies. I won't be able to mail out until next week as we're out of the house until then with it being full of fumes from staining the floors.

So... the winner is.... comment #8 which said:

Oh wouldn't those look cute on spring garden-y cards! Yummy candy!
Mary Puskar

So Mary, come on down, you're the next winner for BLOG CANDY. Send me your snail mail (jdgray94@shaw.ca) and I'll get your goodies out to you next week!

Jennifer

craziness

Sorry to be late in posting, but with the flooring being done (sanding is unreal in creating a real layer of dust EVERYWHERE!!)... I've been struggling to get it together to get posts up. I also have a household of sick babes and Daddy just got called to go to work so he's gone (yes, out of province!) so life is crazy! I will post a winner to the blog candy tonight or tomorrow so stay tuned. I have a list of errands I have to run out & do (and get out of the house so the fumes don't kill me!) so I'll quickly share with you another invite "attempt" LOL.

This one is EXTREMELY close to the final choice (stitching is just a bit different). Now to get all 21 done! :)

Hello Monday

Today brings two kids home sick with a nasty bug (hubby's got it too), workers in the house sawing, banging & finishing up the staircase (we've got a love/hate relationship! LOL - love that they're here, tired of all the noise & mess -- yes, I have a tablesaw set up in my living room!!) And through it all we're planning birthday parties. So fun. My oldest has turned 11 & my middle-guy turns 9 this month. She's doing a live version of the game Clue (her idea & a very cool one in my books) and He is going a game of Survivor -- way cool! :) I'll show you the duds I made for invitations (thankfully my 6 year old's birthday is around the corner and she loves everything so her invites will all be different! LOL) Typically I make an invite or two and my daughter picks her favorite. This year she had specifics (polka-dots, and a bee stamp)... so off I went and after FIVE attempts neither one of us really liked any of them.... however... this was the close second: (the *winner* was actually a different stamp altogether! LOL)

From Scraps to a card....

Do you ever find your space is shrinking? I'm talking about your work-space. As I stamp I find all my cuttings, and tools crowding in and I'm left stamping on a tiny corner of what was my empty table! LOL. I decided to make this card with "scraps" that were laying around my table... (The design paper is from Basic Grey) - It was great to clean up a few bits & pieces and I was surprised with how they went together :) I'm now trying to get into the habit of CLEANING up my space (yes, entirely) after a stamping session. Yes, I usually have to quit 10 minutes earlier than I'd like, but I find myself SO MUCH more creative in a clean space. Sort of like the house.... if my kitchen is clean, I can function :) Try it this week & let me know how it makes you feel :)
